Walking up to the house, you immediately see comfy rocking chairs where you can sit and admire the beautiful flower garden. As you open the front door, you are greeted by "Boris," our mascot. The boar really is laughing—you can't help but grin.
Living and Dining Rooms
The living and dining rooms are filled with tall windows that look out to the gardens and provide amazing light, giving the house a cheery, open feeling. The rooms are decorated with an eclectic mix of new furnishings and antiques, creating a fun gathering place for your whole party.
The kitchen walls are accented in bright red paint with galvanized corrugated steel covering one whole wall. Playful magnets are stuck to that wall. Black enamel and chrome high-end appliances give the room a little retro feel. A large sculpted chicken on top of the refrigerator adds just the right touch of sophisticated fun.
Bedroom 1 — Dave’s Room
This room is named after the previous owner of the house. Dave is a cheery fellow and so is this room. Dave's bedroom has a high ceiling and tall windows, with its own full spa-like bath for added luxury.
Bedroom 2 — Brian’s Office
During renovation, the owner moved his office into this room to ensure the highest quality from the construction staff. Everyone referred to this room as "The Office" and the name took. The Office bedroom is on the main floor, overlooking the back gardens and deck. A plush king-size bed and en-suite full bath provide total comfort.
Bedroom 3 — The Green Room
Upstairs we have two bedrooms, a large full bath, and a landing with a daybed. The first of the bedrooms is the bright, comfy Green Room, with the lush new bedding, silk pillows, and polished antiques — perfect for that cap nap after a day of sightseeing.
Bedroom 4 — The Blue Room
The large Blue Room, which can sleep four people, is decorated like a New England cottage by the sea, with cozy corners, antiques, soft gray painted floors, and beds you want can't wait to settle in for a relaxing night's sleep.
The Landing completes the cottage look upstairs and houses a daybed for that extra guest, along with a small powder room.
Spotless Modern Bathrooms
The Laughing Boar Guest House has five bathrooms— 3 full baths and 2 powder rooms. Bathrooms are all new, with beautiful stone tile floors and showers. Warm wood vanities have granite tops, and the lighting fixtures are clean & modern. Every bath feels like your own personal spa!
The Gardens and Deck
Outside are the most amazing sprawling gardens, full of colorful perennials and tall shade trees. Above the gardens is a deck where guests can relax to the sound of the water trickling in the fish pond. These fantastic gardens have been on the Hermann Garden Club Garden Tour for the last 4 years — a must see!
